Master Board Mayhem

 Hello crafters,

On my YouTube channel, I have joined a few collabs and one is making a master board.

The purpose of a master board is to create images on a canvas to use in a project to create something else, like a tag, envelope, etc.  In a sense, it becomes the paper you use instead of digital papers, 12x12 or 6x6 paper pad that already has the art on the paper.  This is one that you uniquely create yourself.

I used ephemera from my journaling stash and just went to town creating a master board that I will one day use to make something else.

Now while this is not my preferred way to use paper, I will enjoy using it when I make things for my journals.  It was a bit of fun putting it all together.

Cookbook Journal for Drew

 Hey there,

I am so excited to show you the digital kit I purchased from @Creating with Jovi on YouTube at her Etsy Store; a cookbook journal that I created using papers from the kit:

This is one of the pages Jovi designed for the kit.  I made an upper left corner pocket to insert recipes on index cards or somewhere else and the image below that is one drawn by my daughter, Amanda (these images were featured when I had an Etsy shop and blog: Tellens Place).

Another image drawn by Amanda and an image I found doing a Google search for retro food so that I could add to the extra pages.  Jovi's kit had lots of pages for this journal to be complete as well as freebies on her Facebook page.

I'll have a video on my channel soon, so keep a look out for it.

Making Journaling Cards

Hello everyone,

I am happy to report that my YouTube channel is up and running and I've posted a few things that might be of interest so go and check it out and subscribe if you like what you see.  Here's what I've been making for my journals:

I found the images on Pinterest "Victorian Ladies" and decorated them to match the paper style, which is a digital image I purchased from Polka Art Studios Etsy store.

I purchased quite a lot of digitals so that I can make journals (possibly for sale) and look forward to putting them all together.  Check out their store - they always have sales and the prices are exceptional!

Journals Just Keep Getting Fun

 Hello everyone,

One of my favorite journals is the "Bee" journal that I made using digital papers.  I really enjoyed putting it together.

I used one of the digital papers from the kit for the cover page.  I found the gnomes online via my subscription with Creative Fabrica - that was a nice find and easy investment that I'll probably continue with.

I coffee dyed copy paper and decorated the journal with stenciling (see the heart in the upper right hand corner).  This was quite fun.

Add pockets and decorating tags with the digital papers really help the journal to stand out.

I added Stickles to the bee's wings so that would take on a 3D look.  Buzz, buzz, buzz....

What's Going On?

 Hi there,

I'm all over the place, y'all!

I think I've managed to get photos of new journals that I'm working on and some that I did in 2020, when I was revved up for these puppies.

This cover is an actual digital from...hmmm...I can't remember (should've written it down) but it was a freebie and I just loved this house image.  In fact, this might be the first journal that I was proud of at the time.

Coffee-dyed paper, a book page pocket and some paper that I received from others (again, memory escapes).  I did add a lot of other things but you'll have to check my YouTube channel for the video to see all that fun stuff.

Craft on!

What's This...Journals?

 Hello peeps,

The last time I was on YouTube as terryeo1, I was really getting into journals.  I still made my greeting cards but making "junk journals" was the thing and I was getting into it.

I used a cover from one of those notebooks Michaels consistently sold at the time.  It already had the lined paper in it.

I decorated each page.

I made a flip up page using a book page to add interest to the lined paper.

Adding cute pockets and a fold out was another thing.

Playing with paper is so much fun.  Look at that journaling spot on the left paper. Super cool!

Stay tuned.  I'll be back to doing videos and you'll see more journal playing along with making fabulous cards.

Happy Crafting!

Welcome!

Hello everyone and welcome to my new crafty blog!

This particular blog is home to Tellen's Place Designs, showcasing my journals, the ephemera I use, cards and possibly some card kits and other things that I am proposing to set up shop for.

Here's a sample of a past journal I've made:

My journals are basic, definitely something a beginner can use to start his/her journey.  Also they are for those who do not have the storage for the collection of papers that are often required to fulfill our creative desire of completion; however journals can and are made from one's own imagination and can be quite the work of art when completed.

Stay tuned, there's a lot more about the journals I've made to show you.
